If you've been less than enamoured with Apple's latest iPhone and iPad offerings this year, then this latest set of rumours may just be what you're looking for. According to sources at the Wall Street Journal and 9to5Mac respectively, the iPhone could go for a curved screen and iPad Pro may do away with the conventional home button.

First the iPhone. We're hearing that Apple is going the Samsung route, and incorporating a dual edged screen as seen in the Galaxy S7 edge and its forebearer. The Wall Street Journal adds that Apple has asked its suppliers to deliver prototype OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) displays which outperform the resolution and pixel density of Samsung's offering, which is around the 1440x2560 and 534 ppi mark for the S7 edge.

The iPad is said to undergo a rather radical change with the upcoming 10.9" version to lose the physical home button altogether. The reason for the move is prompted by Apple's desire to incorporate a larger display onto the same frame as a 9.7" iPad, according to reports.

Whether these rumoured changes turn out to be true, remains to be seen.
