The news that the BBC sacked Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson should be familiar by now. The BBC replaced Clarkson with Chris Evans, a radio personality and a bit of a petrolhead in his own right, in the middle of the year. Evans  has now revealed in a new interview on BBC1's Saturday Kitchen that the next season will be aired on 8 May 2016. As The Guardian reports, that's just three days after the 23rd season of the motoring show completes shooting.

Evans also revealed that for their first road trip, the team would be heading to the United States, although the pressure is on given the antics that Clarkson and co. got up to in the US in previous seasons. Also intriguing is just how well the newly-helmed series will perform given its new presenter lineup. Evans currently has a three year long contract with the BBC, which should hopefully give him enough time to make the show his own, a tough a task as any.

For those unfamiliar with Chris Evans, we've included a video clip with him talking about the interview process for Top Gear's new co-hosts (still unnamed).
