Overwatch debuts animated short film titled The Last BastionBy Robin-Leigh Chetty 19 August 2016 | Categories: news
Blizzard has a real hit on its hands with Overwatch, at last count (June) the game had an estimated 7 million players registered, and has only grown in popularity since then. To reward fans of the MMO First-Person Shooter game, Blizzard has released a seven-minute long animated film chronicling one of its characters: Bastion.
Aptly titled The Last Bastion, he (or it) is the last of his kind, a group of man-made peacekeeping robots that revolted against their human creators during an event that Overwatch terms the Omnic Crisis. Following that event, Bastion went dormant and has recently awoken with a curious interest in the natural world around him.
This is the fifth animated short film that Overwatch has released to date, and in the same vein as Pixar, is quite heartwarming, Hit play on the video after the break and enjoy.
