James Gunn's The Suicide Squad did a lot to revive the appeal of the villians after the very much 'meh' first movie. On the gaming front, Warner Bros. Games and DC would hope to capitilise on the goodwill of the recent flick, with the first story trailer now revealed for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. And they are bringing in the big guns to do so, with Rocksteady Studios, creators of the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham series working their developer magic on this third-person shooter.

Debuted at DC FanDome, the brand-new story trailer sheds light on the origins of Amanda Waller’s infamous Task Force X (a.k.a. the Suicide Squad) as Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark grudgingly embark on their mission to take down the World’s Greatest DC Super Heroes, The Justice League.

Featuring an original narrative set within an expansive open-world Metropolis, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League puts the four DC Super-Villains on a collision course with an invading alien force and the Justice League, who are now laser-focused on destroying the city they once vowed to protect.

All the while, the squad must be mindful of those tricky lethal explosives implanted in their heads - as if the mission wasn't tough enough already. We would imagine that killing the Justice League is an almost impossible task, but crazy is as crazy does, so if anyone can, it's Task Force X.

Have a look at the trailer below to see Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark in action for this upcoming action-adventure third-person shooter, scheduled for 2022 on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
