Today is the day a number of photographers have been looking forward too, since it’s the start of the 4th annual Photo & Film Expo taking place at the Coca- Cola Dome.

Highlighting the excellence in still photography and film production in South Africa, Photo & Film Expo 2012 will showcase the latest hardware, software, technology, lighting, techniques, facilities and courses available in these fields.

This year looks set to be a boon for those looking to learn more about photography, since there are more than 100 unique one-hour workshops and presentations, hosted free to attendees over the four days of the show. For a schedule of all the speakers, click here.

In addition to the educational aspect of the expo, visitors can expect to see more than 350 photographic and film related brands available for purchase on show specials from retailers at the event. Some of the exhibitors include Nikon, Samsung, Olympus, Sigma, Sony, Adobe, Lexar and Belkin. With specials of up to 70% off some equipment, it’s promising to be a shopper’s paradise.

Tickets can be purchased at the door between 09:00 – 17:00 at R80 per day for adults and R40 for children/pensioners, while limited four day passes are available online at www.webtickets.co.za/photofilm for only R200, which should ensure that you can catch a number of workshops during the weekend too.
