Samsung South Africa has announced that Telkom Business will provide its senior management and staff around the country with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablets. This tablet will serve as an operational communication device within the organisation, highlighting the increasing importance of mobile technology within the workplace.

Craige Fleischer, director of Mobile Communications at Samsung SA, stated that this move substantiates the unique value proposition that Samsung is able to provide within the enterprise mobility space. Samsung stated that this tablet will enable Telkom Business employees to stay in touch with the office and the latest developments in the industry while they are on the road.

“Such is the nature of business in the digital age, that companies can no longer afford not to have employees connected when they are attending meetings, seeing clients, or out in the field – especially from a management perspective. A tablet is the ideal converged business connectivity solution to address this need,” Fleischer explained.

The Korean tech giant’s tablet was recently launched in South Africa and comes outfitted with the functionality and precision of 6.5 mm S Pen. Its appeal lies in using this stylus to write, take notes and create sketches on the tablet’s bright 10.1" (1280 x 800, 149 ppi) resolution screen. Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 is powered by a 1.4 GHz Exynos quad-core processor and boasts a whopping 2 GB worth of RAM for enhanced performance.

“We are certainly excited at the opportunity to provide a business such as Telkom Business with a mobile solution that is not only innovative and highly functional, but that will also enhance their productivity environment. We believe that this is just the beginning of a strong market uptake of Samsung tablets within the enterprise space and look forward to our growth and opportunity in this market,” Fleischer concluded.

In related news, Samsung also recently officially launched its newest smartphone/tablet (or ‘phablet’), the Galaxy Note II, during an event held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
