Star Wars fans rejoice - Microsoft has today confirmed that LucasArt's newest lightsaber wielding romp through the galaxy, The Force Unleashed 2, has a demo available right now on Xbox Live.

The Force Unleashed 2 will take place seven months after the events of the first game and even though Starkiller, the game's hero and Darth Vader's secret apprentice, was slain at the end of the first game, he's back for another round of duelling thanks to some more of Kamino's secret cloning techniques.

The first game in the series was met with mixed reviews, with critics generally liking the story but hating the controls. LucasArt's have been working non-stop to iron out any bugs in the intervening years, so let's hope Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2 can take us back to an improved control galaxy far, far away.

And PS3 fans need not lament just yet, the PlayStation Network demo is due to be released tomorrow. The full game will be releasing on the 29th of October on the PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Nintendo Wii and even the Nintendo DS.

If you're unsure whether to spend that extra bandwidth checking out the demo, maybe this in-game clip can convince you otherwise.
