There's much to be said for console exclusive titles, and for many it's one of the main reasons why they may reach for one brand over another. For PlayStation, one of its historical exclusives, God of War, has always served the company well, and the latest title in the franchise seems to have kept the trend alive.

According to Sony Interactive Entertainment, God of War sold 3.1 million copies on the PS4 in the first three days of its release. The number sets a record for first party titles on the console, and certainly proves that the eight year gap between God of War games was well worth it.

We've thoroughly enjoyed playing the title, with its equal emphasis on storyline and gameplay going down a treat. It also showed how developers Santa Monica Studios were able to evolve the one-dimensional character of Kratos into something far more complex and compelling.

If you own a PS4 and have not purchased a copy of God of War, we highly recommend that you do.
