Google has been introducing a few changes to some of its services this week. Google News was the first to receive the treatment, which has garnered a mixed reaction from users of the platform. The company's next upgrade, however, will hopefully prove more fruitful, with AI-assisted sharing now a part of Google Photos.

The change is set to rollout to users in coming weeks, utilising machine learning in order to assess how people like to categorise and share their images.

To that end, Google Photos will be able to analyse images, and based on user-selected settings, will automatically share them with friends and contacts. Google also notes that users will be able to share pieces of, or their entire photo library with specific contacts, as well as from certain dates.

While we haven't tested out the new system yet, it does raise a few issues regarding what kind of data can be derived from machine learning and analysis of one's entire photo library, or whether private images will be shared with incorrect contacts.
