If you owned the original PlayStation console back in the late 90s, you definitely spent a lot of time playing Gran Turismo. Now a decade or so later, developers Polyphony Digital have announced Gran Turismo Sport, specifically created for the PS4.

This is the first GT title that Polyphony has designed for the next-gen console, with the PS3's Gran Turismo 6 now a little over two years old. The latest edition in the real driving simulator series was announced at Paris Games Week, currently underway, courtesy of this trailer below.

The game looks as sharp as ever, with Polyphony's painstaking attention to detail seen in everything from the stitching in the leather of the driver's seat, to the leaves on trees next to the race track. While this was a great taster sample of Gran Turismo Sport, the actual release date for the game is unknown. Offering some respite however, is the fact that the game will work in conjunction with PlayStation VR, which certainly gives us something to look forward to.
