Following the announcement of its Symbian-powered 808 PureView smartphone with its phenomenal 41 MP sensor, Nokia turns its attentions back to its Windows Phone OS-running Lumia range, by revealing the Lumia 900 and Lumia 610.

Nokia Lumia 900

The Finnish company’s Lumia 900 has a similar design to that of the Lumia 800 (116.5 x 61.2 x 12.1 mm, 142 g), but it is a bit bigger measuring in at 127.8 x 68.5 x 11.5 mm and weighing 160 g. One reason for its larger frame is the fact that it sports a 4.3" WVGA (480 x 800) AMOLED capacitive ClearBlack touchscreen, compared to the 800’s 3.7" WVGA display.

This is Nokia’s first LTE (4G) enabled handset that employs HSDPA+ connectivity to deliver speeds of up to 42 Mbps. It also sports 512 MB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, an 8 MP auto-focus with Carl Zeiss optics that is capable of recording HD-Ready (720p) videos, as well as a 1.3 MP front-facing snapper for video calls. Powering the 900 is a 1.4 GHz single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon application processor, with the mobile also incorporating a larger 1830 mAh battery compared to the Lumia 800’s 1450 mAh battery.

Nokia Lumia 610

Like the new Lumia 900, the Lumia 610 (19.24 x 62.18 x 11.95 mm, 131.5 g) also operates on Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango). This new entry into the Lumia range features a 3.7" WVGA (480 x 800) TFT capacitive touch LCD display, 256 MB RAM, Wi-Fi 802.11 n, Bluetooth version 2.1 plus EDR, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, GPS and 8 GB internal storage.

The 610 is powered by a 800 MHz single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 mobile processor and sports HSDPA connectivity offering speeds up to 7.2 Mbps. Nokia equipped the Lumia 610 with a 5 MP auto-focus camera with LED flash that is capable of recording VGA (640 x 460) videos at a smooth 30 fps (frames per seconds).

Nokia stated that both these smartphones will start to ship in Q2 of 2012. No local release info is available yet.

In other mobile related news, HTC recently unveiled its Tegra 3-powered One X smartphone, as well as the One V and One S Android 4.0-operating smartphones.
