Swinging a sword and casting one devastating spell after another is fun and all, but sometimes you really feel like being a bit more discrete, and exercising your caution as well as your senses as you sneak your way to your objectives. Well, Thieves Guild, the forthcoming DLC for The Elder Scrolls Online, is set to scratch that itch.

The DLC will apparently set players loose among the Thieves Guild of Abah's Landing, which consists aid workers, saints and a variety of do-gooders. No, just kidding. Here you will find the kind of people who are the posterchildren for loss of property insurance - pickpockets, burglars, robbers, and thieves. Making matters even more dicey is that the Thieves Guild has apparently managed to get on the wrong side of a mercenary guard force known as the Iron Wheel, who are seeking vengeance for a high-stakes heist that went horribly wrong.

As the newest recruit, players can expect to, as Gollum would say, be as ‘tricksy’ as they can, including sneaking along rooftops, stealing from the shadows, and recovering lost treasures in order to restore the guild's reputation.

As the brief and new teaser trailer shows, you will be doing plenty of all of the above, squirrelling your way into plush mansions and liberating a set of keys and no doubt, some coin too, from the clutches of unsuspecting guards.

That’s not too say the DLC won’t offer opportunities to go on the offensive though, and the bout of fireball throwing and bursts of lightning emitting from your hands in the trailer shows.
