After recently becoming the first operator in South Africa to commercially launch its LTE (4G) service, local mobile operator Vodacom has now announced the availability of its latest international calling promotion. According to Vodacom, this offer provides customers the lowest rates available in South Africa, when they make international calls directly from a their cellphone.
Contract, Top Up and Prepaid customers will only pay 89c per minute anytime when making calls to 52 international destinations. This is 10c less than Cell C’s international call promotion that was available earlier this year, which offered a rate of 99c per minute for calls to select foreign destinations. Vodacom’s promotion is already available to clients and will run up until the end of this year (31 December 2012).
The international calling promotion will be available for calls made to the following countries:
Vodacom subscribers can opt in to this offer by dialing *111# and following the prompts on the 89c international calling menu. These international calls will be billed per second, and a R5 monthly fee will also be charged. Customers can opt out at any time by dialing *111# once more and selecting ‘opt-out’ from the 89c international calling menu.
For more info customers can contact Vodacom’s customer care on 1187 free from a Vodacom cellphone or 082-1187 from any other phone. Alternatively, they can send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
