Orange has released the statistics on the best selling products from its online store in South Africa for the fourth quarter of 2015. It shows once again that smartphones are the main priority for local consumers when looking to spend their hard earned money on tech. The top three positions, amongst the Top 10 selling products are all smartphones, with five smartphones in total featuring on the list.

“The holiday period between November and January traditionally results in a significant increase in product sales. Sales over the 2015/2016 holiday period exceeded our expectations, despite the falling rand,” explains Blake Levitan, Orange Horizons country manager for South Africa.

The Top 10 selling for both products and smartphones for Q4 2015 are as follows:

“Owing to the fact that our pricing remains live, the prices of imported items are affected by the exchange rate and fluctuations in the strength of the rand. However, given our competitive pricing on a wide range of smartphones, and the number of South African smartphone users rising steadily each year, we are not surprised that smartphones have once again dominated our online sales,” concludes Levitan.
