Treyarch are not the only ones in the gaming world upping their figurative game of late, so too are Ster Kinekor Entertainment, as the company announced a R700 price cut across all its PS4 bundles and standalone consoles. More specifically, the console will be available for R5 300.

“We’re offering our lowest pricing to date for the PlayStation 4 console, allowing fans of South Africa’s favourite console to get their game on.” said Mario Dos Santos, Ster Kinekor Entertainment CEO. “We want our players to experience some of this year’s gaming highlights across our best-selling franchises and independent publishers through the world of PlayStation 4,” he explained.

However, if you want to take advantage of the bargain, you will need to act fast – the promotional price cut is only in effect between the 1st and 3rd of May (a little bit ironically coinciding with the Worker’s Day public holiday locally, which perhaps this time should be renamed Player’s Day).

There is a bit more good news for those who have been waiting to jump into the PS4 fold and take advantage of the offer this weekend. Tweeting a picture of your PS4 and proof of purchase to @PlayStation_SA, using the #PS4PlayinMay hashtag, could net you a spot prize as well.

Admittedly, one of the signature PS4 exclusives, Uncharted 4, may have been delayed into next year, but that is not too say there aren’t several other reasons to jump in. For example, at present Bloodborne (review) comes to mind, and then of course there is the superb Dying Light (review), and we would be remiss not to urge you to play the excellent The Last of Us (review) on the PS4 as well.
